Feature day & fairies, elves and pixies come out to play

Two cards up today, one done for a partner swap over at CardexchangeUK for the month of December, usually make a New Year card as almost everyone else does a Christmas one.

Tattered Lace mini sentiment die

The first attempt at this card had me stamping 'celebrate' in matching ink, but I got a bit carried away and messy with it - didn't like the end result so I threw that away and decided to go digital and use Craft Artist to create the background, using the 'stamp' tool. Just had to pick a font which was similar to the sentiment die.
I used the colour picker to 'pick' the red, purple and blue out of the image and coloured the font.
I did the same with the orange colour and made a solid square to act as the bottom layer to the topper, adding a deep shadow to make it stand out from the card, so when it was printed out it looks like an actual matt and layered topper stuck on the card.
Lastly I printed a solid square of each colour, big enough so I could die cut a couple of 'celebrate' from each, and the stuck them on the card.

After the bright colours of the last card, I've gone all pastel & whimsical with this next one.

I love how this card turned out, the backing paper I've had for a few years, is actually an A4 scenic one featuring a blue bird - but the top half matched the image so well I had to chop it up. One day I might get round to using the rest!.
I edged the backing paper & sentiment with Artic Blue promarker and the topper was edged with Pastel Pink. Love the effect and its very dream like.
