With the Sun peeping through our clouds and slowly warming up the soil, its a tell that Spring is nearly round the corner. Early last week it was time to open up the greenhouse and plant some bulbs - into pots though. I planted 5 or 6 smallish ones with Narcisi bulbs - 50 to pack goes quite a long way!! Also 3 Dahlia Pom Pom bulbs - the bulb is weird looking, bunched together like small sausages. Andrew sowed some French Marigold seeds ready for companion planting with the tomato plants we buy and tidied up the path.
And of course the warmer weather also brings out the garden birds, foraging for food and taking full advantage of our bird feeders and fat balls, singing and chortling away to themselves. Some of the braver birds try to eat from the chicken feeder, but not if a chicken see's them!
My first sample is a 6x6 birthday card, I chose three images from 'Lovely Little Birdies Design Sheet'.
I resized the images so I could use one of my nesting dies to cut them out, for the sentiment panel I colour picked the background off the images and then colour picked the brown in the leaves for the text colour.
A piece of lace from The Stash, and Pioneer Green Nuvo Vintage Drops finished it all off.
I hope you'll join in with our 'Bless this Nest' Challenge, where the Winner gets a $25 shopping spree to spend at the Gecko Galz shop. (The only rule is that you must use at least one Gecko Galz product... this can be one of the freebies, or, of course, you can buy at the Etsy shop).
If you sign up for the Gecko Galz monthly newsletter, you'll be kept up to date with new releases, Super Sunday deals and be able to claim a free digital collage sheet.
If you pop over to the Gecko Galz blog, you will see all the fabulous designs by the Design Team - and maybe grab a freebie or two.
If you haven't a blog/and or/ on Facebook, head over to the Gecko Galz Papercrafting Group where there are more monthly challenges, with the chance to win a digital collage sheet.
