Orange peel and M for matching pair
Well, it was a waste of time writing about work in the last post but one, the whole 'doing contract hrs from now on' didn't pan out *lol* back to 24/30 hrs after just 1 week. And ended up working 7 days non stop due to *cough* higher management mucking up the rota. Two days off together were BLISS and I've recharged my batteries..... for now *g*
Actually made a card as well, and got mucky in the process (the best bit).
Over at Mrs A's buttefly blog, the new challenge is 'M for matching pair and/or the colour orange peel'. As I read it, bright orange splats popped into my mind. I know plain weird eh?
So out came the Vermillion acrylic paint tube and everything did indeed go splat!
I used the vermillion and teamed it with lamp post black paint, and for the 'matching pair' two plain wooden butterfly embellies painted in the Vermillion many times to get the bright orange colour.
The sentiment stamp is from Visible image and stamped in black stazon, finally used a bright orange promarker to edge all the papers.

May partner card
On the ball this month, made this earlier on using another stamp I got gifted.
Little bit different from what I normally do, I do like stamping but don't get to do it much plus I don't buy a lot of stamps, mostly get them free with magazines so taking full advantage of the Carrier Bag.
Wanted to keep it clean and simple with no colour so opted for black flowers. Used a black watercolour pencil... but couldn't find a small brush, ended up using an ear bud to swirl the colour round!

P is for punches & pink
Had a lovely week off last week with Andrew, only been in my new job for 2 weeks so I was so pleased that they honoured the holiday. Lovely just to chill in the sun, and potter around. (not sure if I posted on here what happened with my last job, but that's a post for another day) Today is all about the butterflies!

The challenge for this fortnight is P is for punch and/or pink - I used this stamp again, its turning into a favourite, this time I paper pierced it with matching ink to paper - Hot Pink and Christmas Green pigment inks from DoCrafts, the paper was also from docrafts capsule collection. Love the effect.
To incorporate the Punch bit of the challenge, I used a small butterfly punch I had given me - and punched through the white card, putting a piece of the same pink paper underneath to match the Rose.
I've had the backing paper for years and it was one of those I liked but never could never match to a card design. To finish it off, I added 4 little pink gem stones and 8 white pearls in the corners.
Again with the off cuts/inking testers from this card, I made a small tag to match, only adding a stamped 'with love' sentiment in the same Hot Pink ink.

Y is for Years & Yellow
Using a feebie embossing folder and accompanying stamp, I made this lovely 80th birthday card.
The yellow was water coloured but I didn't like the result so ended up going over the pencil with a promarker.

happy card
Whilst mooching YouTube, I watched a lovely stamped card tutorial by Dawn's Stamping Thoughts and decided to have a go.
Changed the colour of the card to my favourite, only because I had the cardstock on my desk and thought I'd go with that.

grape & glitter
Odd combination! Over at Mrs A's Butterfly Challenge the theme for this times challenge, which ends this evening is G for the colour grape and/or glitter.
I was going to do a card buttook a hint decided to do another altered playing card, after posting my first ever one the other day.
I was going to do a card but
Do Crafts Geometric Mono stamps
Stazon ink: vibrant violent, blazing red, jet black
Indigo Blu sentiment
Hot off the Press 'Soft Nostalgia' paper pack
Glittery foam butterfly
I put a thin layer of white Gesso on the card, as it is quite shiny and the ink etc would rub off. Waited till it was dry, doesn't take long, then randomly stamped the red triangular pattern on, again waited a few minutes so I didn't smudge the ink and then did the same with the black honeycomb stamp. Waited then stamped the sentiment 3 times, unfortunately the purple wasn't that bright against the background and you could hardly see it, so I then had to have a rethink. Decided to stamp onto a scrap piece of card and then using the red ink I smudged lightly to blend it in with the background - made a sentiment topper.
Stuck the butterfly on, then fussy cut round some flowers from the paper in the HotP kit to fill the spaces.

S is for stamping & sapphire/playground 217
I had planned to do a different style of card for this challenge, one I watched on YouTube, but when raiding my offcuts/snippets drawer realised I wouldn't have enough of the blue card to do it so had to wing it *lol* and this is what I came up with:
The snippet of blue card stock was what was remaining of an A4 sheet, I made a 6x6 white card blank and then measured and cut a square of the blue exactly 1 inch smaller, then gutted the middle as I needed it for the die cut butterfly.
I stamped the two butterflies using the pigment ink, then decided I would put the sentiment in the middle (and not use the butterfly) but I noticed a teeny tiny smudge of blue ink in the space which I could see a mile off but no one else would probably have done! So I reverted to plan A to put the die cut there.
Matted and layered the card then attached the die cut with my Pritt stick, so I could best position it.
I then stamped the sentiment in the corner, stuck some white gems on the butterfly and decided to pop a blue gem on each of the stamped butterflies. And finished off by blinging up the corners.

all white?
Suffering from a bad epsiode of Depression this last week, resulting in a panic attack at work (they are so patient with me) and the Negative and tears spewing forth, I have increased my meds up to try and combat it. I know they are starting to work as I am now feeling rather spaced out. (in a good way!). I should get used to the higher doseage soon.....
To occupy myself I made a card, ironically as the colour associated with Depression is black, I plumped for a challenge using white on white. Sounds simple. It wasn't.
Anyhoo, after two false starts, this is the card I came up with, the topper being part of one of the others I scrapped.
