24 Tags of Christmas from Gecko Galz

It is the most wonderful time of the year with Gecko Galz our 24 days of Christmas tags and giveaways. Each day on the Gecko Galz blog we will share a fun tag using our products and one of our amazing followers will win a Christmas gift from Gecko Galz. All you have to do is leave a comment on our blog or make a purchase and you are in the drawing to win.
And on Christmas Eve we will pick one lucky winner who will win our 2020 products lines!

Have fun!

Both images were from page fillers when I've made other projects - I don't like wasting printing card so I tend to have a quick browse and pick random images and make them different sizes to fill the A4 card up. Still have a few to use, eventually.

I used brown tags from The Range -the top one used backing paper from stash, a doily and a wooden snowflake embellished with Tonic Nuvo Drops in vintage green.
The bottom one I used a sample of wallpaper with an embossed pattern on it, DIY stores come in handy, and then a little blue to match the ladies coat. Another wooden snowflake - I absolutely adore these! - embellished this time with a sparkly peel off snowflake, last but not least I found a sentiment to bring it all together.

Don't forget to keep checking out the Gecko Galz to see all the amazing tags and for a chance to win!!

Gypsy Fortune

A new month means a new Customer Challenge at Gecko Galz and the theme for the month of October is 'Gypsy Fortune'. So why not play along - join the challenge with the chance to win $25 at the Gecko Galz shop!

The last few weeks here in the UK has seen us slowly slipping and sliding into Autumn, sunny days are a thing of the past and we're already into rainy days, many places torrential at the moment. Soon it'll be time to turn back the clocks and draw the curtains at night, to counteract the drearier weather, Mother Nature gives the flowers & fauna one last chance to wow us with all their hues of gold, brown and reds, plus as if by magic, mushrooms and other fungi start appearing, all be it for a short while and then them to are gone.

Decided to do a tag this month, I've got a feeling that this might turn into another project in the future, I felt like I wanted to do some more with it, but couldn't quite get there.

If you sign up for the Gecko Galz monthly newsletter, you'll be kept up to date with new releases, Super Sunday weekly deals and be able to claim a free digital collage sheet.

If you pop over to the Gecko Galz blog, you will see all the fabulous designs by the Design Team - and maybe grab a freebie or two.
If you haven't a blog or/ you are on Facebook, head over to the Gecko Galz Papercrafting Group where there are more monthly challenges, with the chance to win a digital collage sheet.

30 tags of December #2

Here's my 2nd tag for you, using a Gecko Galz image from the design sheet "Christmas Cuties' and bits n bobs from my stash, though the Poinsettias are a new purchase as I needed something small and Christmassy to fill the space on the tag and I didn't have anything suitable.

F is for Faux and/or Jasmine

Taking advantage of Andrew going to bed extra early as he's made up with the flu I had last week, yes I kindly donated it too him *lol* I decided to do a quick tag for Mrs A's butterfly challenge which ends tomorrow night.

(I watched some You Tube vid's last night on 'faux craft techniques' and came upon Faux Enameling. the lady in question used punched paper circles, to which she 'stamped' with an embossing ink pad then dipped the circles in clear embossing powder, then used the heat gun to dry. She then repeated the process to make it more glossy. Once done they really looked like she had used an enamel on them.)

I already had some butterflies which I had punched out for another project previously so I decided to have a go at enameling those. I pressed them into the embossing pad then dipped into the clear embossing powder pot, knocked the loose powder off then used the heat gun to dry - note to self Get longer tweezers - ouch. Then repeated the process. Not only does it look like enamel, it also makes the embellishments quite stiff.

Flicking through my snippet box, I really must get colour coded envelopes sorted, I found this pale yellow/cream card stock which fitted the description of the colour Jasmine 'creamy yellow' so I decided to use that.
The stamp came from a HUGE carrier bag full which I was gifted by a friend at work, I've sorted out the ones I want to keep (see what I did there - I didn't say I'd actually use them) and the other half I am going to take to the PDSA charity shop I visit.
Used black pigment ink for the design as I wanted a dreamy look and Stazon is to precise and clear for that.

Ooops!

With not much time left to enter a Vintage Valentine challenge, I decided to do a tag (which will later be turned into a topper for next years Valentines day).
Over at the Gecko Galz hang out on Facebook  one challenge was red & pink and another was to use Heather Hudson's freebie design sheet..... So yesterday afternoon I printed the sheet off and set too. This morning I faffed and fiddled with various layouts, bits of ribbon, lace, pearls and hearts till I came up with something along the lines of want I wanted. Out came the glue.

Sorry its a bit dark but the lighting isn't very good.

I fussy cut the girl out the middle of the heart, then cut the border of the heart out so each was a standalone image.

At the last minute I decided to go mad and totally cover the heart border with pearls, happy with the effect. Then i decided to use clear nail varnish on the rose to make it look a bit dewy. This needed two coats to give it the finished effect i wanted.

Ta-da, finally finished.

Went to upload my tag and realised I'd forgot to add an actual Gecko Galz image. Duh!!

Oh well, I really enjoyed making the tag - and that's what counts.

two for one

Birthday card done especially for a friend's birthday.

Used elements from the Gecko Galz email freebie design sheet for January, copied out the bird postcard, resized it to fit my chosen card size, because I had paper space left I also duplicated the image & randomly resized just to fill the paper, also did a couple of sentiments.

tag me

with the tag I made (see earlier post) I made this birthday card, used the same paper on the tag for the backing paper, I lightened it in CAP, but I think I could have gone a tad lighter, used a few peel off lines to break the card up.

seeing stars

I haven't used Craft Artist to (properly) design anything for months, possibly a year. So when I spotted a digital challenge blog, I decided to blow the cobwebs off the old thing.
I designed this to be used as a tag on a birthday card, fairly basic design, but will be embellished when I make the card up.

buttons

For some reason this looks cream, its actually a very light green.
The tag is from Shabby Chic - Debbi Moore, I glittered around the mannequin with chamelon glitter, you can just about see it in the photo and embellished with buttons and a bow.
