home sweet home

Over at fripperies and butterflies, the theme of the month was to use this image

how ever you wanted to.

I resized it in CAP2, (about 4.5inch long and 4 inch wide)  then copied & pasted the image a couple of times and used the cut-out studio to make some bits to decoupage with, namely the roof and the bird, which saved on ink.

As I thought it was too pretty to mess with I decoupaged the bits then embellished it with some roses I bought in a sale from The Range. I did want to put a nice sentiment on, but couldn't find anything suitable so I just typed the sentiment over the print, till I find something I like.

I don't know if I want to have it as a cute little wall hanging or have it as a stand-up decoration. Not sure but I will post photo's of what it ends up as.

sweet tweets

Catching up on challenges, second digi today, this one was for 'whats in your bag'......  and one of the items was a book of raffle tickets for the RSPB. So a little birdie told me what to do -

"Little Birds" digi kit from DaisyTrail

100% digital, thinking it would make a lovely thank you or a simple hello card.

spring wedding

It was a layout only challenge over at digitally sweet last week following a pre drawn sketch, I always find these difficult but I stuck to the plan and after many tense moments, this is the end result,
this is one of my favourite photo's of mum, (don't have many others apart from mum & dads wedding photos, we were never a photogenic family and now, well, its too late) and I think I've done a wonderful accompaniment page. Thinking after a few tweaks, I may print and frame this to put up on my wall.

catch and release

atc done for wicked wednesday atc

picture the scene...... he up to his ankles in mud and water - whilst I will be reclining in a chair, in the sunshine, reading a good book and sipping a chilled Rose wine.

In reality, never been fishing. The stream/river will be playground for our 3 dogs, so no peace and quiet, definitely no reading as the dogs like to splash and shake so we then end up as wet and muddy as them.

red is Red

Gecko Galz 'monochromatic' design sheet 2
white 6x6 card blank
stick on lace
gems
coloured flowers
button

The stick-on lace is actually of a Christmas design, if you look at the top of the card you can see that's its actually stockings, and its a right pain to piggle the backing off to get it to stick.....cropped and resized the image, layered it on to a piece of red mirror card and stuck onto the card, for the bow I made two holes about an inch apart in the 'seam' of the card and pushed ribbon through.

hot off the press

just finished this 100% digital scrap card, the challenge was to use this colour palette:

so I copied the chart into CAP2 and took my colours straight from it using the colour selector pipette, and with different materials/effects added, I made this card, it could also be used as a topper.

Oh bee-have!!

Done for a Bee themed challenge over at  lunagirl moonbeams blog, hand drew the bees so I apologise now for the squishy un-bee shaped-ness of them.

(There is a informative piece on Bees & growing for Bees in this times issue of Earth Matters from Friends of the Earth, I have already planned a cut flower garden on our allotment plot and am now going to do a bee friendly patch in the garden)

button it

Atc - used 3 buttons out of the Tin for his body, sewed through the buttonholes with black cotton to look like pieces of stone for his buttons, used black bobbly ribbon for his scarf, cut a small black mirror card hat, drew stick arms & finally promarked an orange spot for his nose.
