Something simple for this months challenge over at Digitally Sweet.

I wanted to use fairies and mushrooms/toadstools - I found the perfect fungi image from "spring has sprung" by Ephemeras Vintage Garden   and decided to use my favourite fae folk from  Fripperies and Butterflies.

With retrospect, that was the simple bit - I spent a very long time digitally cutting out the toadstools from their background, in the end it was millimetre by millimetre! All I then had to do was place the fae folk fluttering round, adding shadows here and there - the overall image reminded me of pictures from an old Lithographic book on Natural History or something of that ilk.

This image is 100% digital.

happy card

Whilst mooching YouTube, I watched a lovely stamped card tutorial by Dawn's Stamping Thoughts and decided to have a go.

Changed the colour of the card to my favourite, only because I had the cardstock on my desk and thought I'd go with that.

purple, white and silver

A Christmas card done following the colour theme of purple and white - totally forgotten about the silver bit, so this isn't going to be entered into Merry Mondays Xmas challenge but its taken on another meaning with the sad news of the passing of Prince, - 'when doves cry' and 'purple rain'.
I have to say, as a fickle teenager I never really 'got' him - yes his music was good but that was all - no matter though, he still was a force of nature and there was nobody like him before and I don't think anyone will be in the future.

Cowgrls, cowboys & horses

Another great challenge over at Lunagirl this month, although it did take me a long while to find an image I wanted to use. I love the colours of this image from Pinterest.

Not much I can say for this card, as I raided my offcuts/bits n bobs/snippets drawer to find colours that went with the image. Oh, vintage buttons! these lovely brown/orange buttons were sat on the top of the pile just waiting to be used.

open card

Lovely spring coloured card, wish it was sun hat weather, its more like fisherman hat weather. Wanted to keep it plainish, found the flower in my stash - added a plain daisy to the middle and some blue ribbon. Keeping it plain makes it look fresh, I used it as a birthday card, just added a Happy Birthday peel off above the ribbon.

Dads birthday

As always, I get stuck for my dads birthday card, but on this occasion I knew when I saw the image that I wanted to use it.

Dad, in his old age (don't tell him I said that) has taken an interest in watching ploughing competitons at the rural fairs he & Delia love to visit, so this image was perfect.

Multi challenge celebration

Over on Merry Monday Christmas Challenge, its the 200th challenge, and to celebrate they have 4 choices of theme - do one or all four. I'm not feeling that Christmas yet, so I stayed with the one.
Had intended to to do red, green & white then realised it was also Kraft, which I haven't got, so changed my mind and went with the Snowman theme for the card.
The topper is actually an ATC which I made last February for Wicked Wednesday atc challenge blog.
Least now it'll be seen and not just sitting in a box on the shelf. One day I will get some shadow boxes to put my makes in.......
The card is a lot brighter than the picture, the gold is quite shiny in the light, so I didn't need to add any gems.

March colour challenge

Not a card this time, decided to do a tag as I haven't done one for a little while. Size of the tag is roughly 5" by 3.5".

F is for fancy folds/fuschia

Oh cripes, this was a difficult one!

I googled card - fancy folds, and came up with this one from (finding website).

The folds were simple enough, but the paper cutting was a chore - although I did make templates from it, and you can always use a patterned paper/card as the base instead of white.

Different card today, not vintage, no doily, no butterflies and coloured in! I got to play with my promarkers. Yay!!

something for me

This is one of my favourite books as a child, another one being The Faraway Tree. I spotted this book whilst mooching round an Antiques Centre - wasn't a particularly old book but I had to have it - to accompany the copy of the Faraway Tree I found earlier, they now sit on the shelf of my bedside table as decoration. As it was a hardback and I didn't want the shiny cover, I took it off. It was a shame to through it away so I decided to make a card from it, using the main image as a pocket to hold the 'tags' which were cut out from the inside of the cover and the back page

getting sentimental

So I finally got another Christmas card made, not done one since dad was poorly. If I don't do it/or inspiration strikes before Friday I don't have time to do one as I work weekends and usually too wiped out to do anything *lol*
Not much was used in the making of this card......... Have I just made a CaS card??? wow!! *lol*

birthday card

This shaped card is actually a Designer DieCut topper from Docrafts Capsule Collection, I thought it would make a nice card with a little bit of embellishment.

M is for mint/margins

Ooops, I missed the deadline for Mrs A's challenge by 5 minutes, normally I manage to sneak in about half an hour before but today I lost track of time whilst choosing my $25 worth of Gecko Galz prizes...........

Anyway, April is a busy month for birthdays in this house so I turned the challenge into a birthday card.

green paper from Docrafts
white card

white pearls

The only thing I noticed was it needs another white pearl to finish the corner bling off, so before posting I will do that.
