Little girl frame

One of my friends had a little baby girl and I wanted to make a little gift for her, this is the practice sample - I forgot to take a photo of the finished gift.

Originally I was going to put the meaning of her name, but as its got a Religious connotation and my friend is anything but, I decided to put her date of birth and weight.

The Butterfly Wheel is C

Over at Butterfly Blog, a new format for the fortnightly challenge has begun with three colours & three themes, its upto the player to choose!

this weeks letter is C and I picked Butterfly with Cornflower Blue and Corners - with a bit of crimson  and cream thrown in! The backing paper which was a magazine freebie has cornflower blue and cream flowers on it. I used a piece of co-ordinating cream paper cut to fit the corner to contrast the card. Then die cut two butterflies, one to match cornflower blue and the other to match the darker blue ink. Lastly added a few red gems to highlight the crimson in the backing paper.

Post me a card

Not been in my Debbi Moore stash drawer for ages, so I thought I'd make a quick card using some bits n bobs from one of the magazines. There was a butterfly already on the post card but I used a matching but bigger embellishment to cover it. Also not used a doily for a while, so just had to add one. Last of my flowered ric rac as well, just have to remember where I got it from!

Tee for one??

Feeling flush in The Range and went on a mini shopping spree - ie wasn't an 'essential' buy - spotted this Hunkdory Little Book of Toppers for Men, all the images are vintage so couldn't resist!!

Backed the image onto a newspaper sheet and some blue card, and coloured 2 Candi with pastel yellow promarker to blend in. Perfect for my dad who loves watching golf........ till he falls asleep!!

Its a wrap..... again

Just love this wrapping paper, not much of it left now - the end of the roll is nigh!!
Certainly putting it to good use, and not throwing it away. Might just be able to squeeze something else out if it.
Cheery paper combined with a cheery sentiment - says what it does on the tin!!

Flutter-by Butterfly

An A5 card today, done for a partner swap over at CardExchange UK. We now have a Facebook page for our group and are finding it much easier to keep in touch than Yahoo, which is having its own issues. Anyone intersted in joining, let me know - you have to live in the UK for postage reasons and we swap a card with an allocated partner each month, we also do atc swaps and twice yearly we do a gift giving swap.

And here's another card using the same design but in a different way - an A6 card

Looks like Blogger doesn't want to play, so the paragraphs are staying wonky!

Featured day at Gecko Galz

Made this card for Andrew's birthday, I wanted to do a different style of card so I googled 'stepper card' and eventually landed on card making magics template. One attempt went a bit wrong, so I tried again and managed this one.
The backing paper is 'Bygone Days' from the 'Steampunk Papers' kit, I printed it on an A4 sheet so I could choose which bits of the  pattern I wanted to show.
The two images are from 'Man O Man' design sheet 1 & 2 backed onto dark chocolate mirri card. The sentiment is a Visible Image one, stamped in Encore Bronze ink, the cogs came from Craft Box.

On to something dainty now!  I have a lot, and I do mean a lot, of bookmarks. Most are upstairs languishing in a drawer waiting for me to think up a way to display them as a collection. In the mean time I have a few floating round the house, but when I'm reading - can I find one? No. So whilst I was looking for images to use for the PUTTING ON THE GREEN, I came across this pretty butterfly one and thought it would be perfect as a bookmark. All I did was resize it to fit a normal paper back book, backed it on to some lime paper then onto a piece of thickish card. Punched a hole through, tied a ribbon and that's one bookmark finished.

And back on to Steampunk! When I was printing the card images out I also printed this one out, thinking it would be an apt bookmark.

This image also came from 'Man O Man', cogs from Craft Box, ribbon from stash. No idea why the background has gone blue - it was white....

Putting on the Green

Over on the Gecko Galz blog, the challenge for February is 'Putting on the Green'. Feel free to join in and have a play - there is only one rule, and that is you need to use at least ONE product from Gecko Galz Etsy but it can be one of the free products, stamps, collage images, or digital papers. The winner will receive a $25 Gecko Galz shopping spree!

First up is a digital project I did using 'Glass Slipper' from the 'Ever After' paper pack and an image from 'Gypsy Magic' design sheet. Quote from the web.

I used the paper as my background. I thought the gold swirls would work well with the image. I then imported the design sheet into my work space and cropped it down till I had the image I wanted to use. Altering the size I placed it in the right hand corner, then used the wine glass tool which in easy speak allows you to play with the transparency of  your selected item from different angles. once I was happy with how she faded into the background, I matched the colour of sentiment to the swirls.

For this card I used an image from 'She is so Lovely' design sheet.

Background paper Websters Pages "Petite Papers" collection
Lime paper from Websters " Best Friends" pack
Peel offs
Green Pearls
The Hobby House 'champagne' gems
bow

For this card I used an image from "Sweet little Cuties" design sheet.

Using an oval die I cut the image out and then cut the same size oval out of a piece of cream card and used this as a picture mount.
The green flower, gold embellishments, lace and snip art corner all came from Craft Box.
